The Atomic Museum, Las Vegas, Nevada

When science meets storytelling, something extraordinary happens. At the Atomic Museum in Las Vegas, visitors embark on an atomic journey unlike any other. With the grand opening of Atomic Odyssey on January 9th, 2025, the museum unveiled a 2,100 square feet gallery space that features a fully immersive experience integrating four interactive exhibits, complemented by dynamic environmental soundscapes, lighting, and infographics. The gallery also presents inspiring artworks by James Stanford, a renowned Las Vegas artist, commissioned by the museum for Atomic Odyssey.
Â
Atomic Museum partnered with the Chick Russel Company and the Producers Group (TPG) to provide a turnkey solution—from concept to installation—that would captivate audiences and enhance STEM learning. Beaudry Interactive was engaged by TPG to provide our expertise in gamified learning and help bring the museum’s innovative goals to life. Our team was responsible for conceptualizing and developing all interactive experiences, as well as developing educational content for the gallery’s infographics.

The Interactive Experiences
The four centerpiece exhibits were designed to demystify complex atomic science concepts, making them accessible and engaging for museum-goers of all ages:
Â
Atomic Structure Interactive
Visitors delve into the building blocks of matter through a hands-on exploration of atomic structures that guide users through the process of assembling series of atoms. The exhibit features a sleek, 2D graphical interface with vibrant, modern visuals housed within a touchscreen table that ensures ease of access for all visitors; dynamic, infographic-style visuals provide contextual learning; and the clean design ensures intuitive engagement, complemented by educational tidbits like the periodic table composition and atomic properties.

Â
Atomic Fusion Interactive Focusing on the science behind the sun’s energy, the fusion exhibit invites visitors to combine atomic nuclei through interactive controls that increase temperature and pressure. These controls trigger real-time reactive visuals along with auditory effects and voice-over to deliver the learning experience, showcasing the potential of fusion as a sustainable energy source.

Â
Atomic Fission Interactive This exhibit demonstrates the process of nuclear fission with an immersive animated simulation. Guests use a plunger mechanism—inspired by pinball machine mechanics—to fire neutrons into isotopes and trigger chain reactions to learn about controlled and uncontrolled reactions as energy is released. Guests learn how this energy can be processed to power nuclear reactors or nuclear bombs.
Â

Radiation Interactive Through vibrant animations and real-time multi-sensory feedback, this exhibit illuminates the invisible forces of radiation, offering visitors a chance to explore various radiation types and their effects on the human body. Interactive controls on a custom-designed console engages guests by providing insights into the properties of radiation, including which materials it can penetrate and which it cannot.

Beaudry Interactive’s approach seamlessly combined design innovation, technical expertise, and the creation of tailored educational content to deliver cohesive and impactful interactive exhibits. Key highlights include:
